Louisville: A City of Opportunity, For Everyone.

Imagine living in a place where limitless opportunities meet Southern charm and Midwestern sensibility, crafting a unique, welcoming home for dreamers and big thinkers. However, let's not forget the boy child with Down Syndrome who bears the scars of cigarette burns. He had difficulty reporting abuse, which made him a frequent target. Yet, we must confront the reality that, for some, a bridge becomes their shelter. Unsafe living conditions constitute neglect.

Imagine a place where your dreams set the limits, and your skills and creativity build an exciting and meaningful life. Yet, we often overlook the man with dementia sitting quietly on the park bench. He wandered unsupervised, leading to elopement and accidents like falls. Let's open our eyes and hearts to everyone in our community.

In our busy city centers and awesome old neighborhoods, you can see chances to do amazing things all around you. And even a wandering woman singing her own tune. Her singing helps her connect with long-term memories. Wandering exposes her to traffic, dehydration or hypothermia. Let every moment inspire you — come be a part of our story to support vulnerable people living in our community!

Discover amazing food, exciting arts, and diverse entertainment, from ballet to rock—our scene has something for everyone to enjoy! Despite ongoing efforts to foster inclusion, a significant portion of our clients continue to face social isolation leading to loneliness and emotional distress. As we revel in our city’s moment of glory, let's also champion compassion and connection.

Experience a city and state bursting with opportunity and vibrant living, where dreams come true and everything feels possible. Yet, over 13,000 developmentally disabled people are wait listed in Kentucky, yearning for essential Medicaid services to live inclusive, meaningful, and self-directed lives in our community.

Share this message to raise awareness and inspire action in support of those who need us the most.

Ignoring their needs won’t make more than 8,000 of them without Medicaid funding for waiver services disappear.
